Reworked Swamp, 0.9.7 supertest.

Here is the minimap of the reworked Swamp from the 0.9.7 supertest.


They did major changes on all corners and added extra covers (Buildings mostly), glad to see them opening up some maps.

07.03.2015 QA.
Here it is:

- In physics test, the T1 was significantly improved to test physics engine behavior. Q: "I want my T1 to be like that on live server" A (Storm): "Pervert!";
-A player posted an idea that in World of Tanks, the tanks look smaller than they are due to incorrect camera positioning and angle. Storm states that this was an issue as early as the alpha test and the camera angle and position was decided to be as convenient as possible after a lot of testing;
-The physics test has a bug that when you try to move (turn the tracks) when the tank is tipped over, it still throws out dirt, it will be fixed;
-Turrets on vehicles will not be made material objects (for the purpose of tanks not running over smaller tanks and clipping through turrets);
-Friendly fire was disabled only for the physics test, it will not be disabled on live server;
-Developers are still thinking about how much re-balance of tanks will the improved physics require, it's possible this re-balance will take a lot of time;
-Tanks behave sort of unrealistically in the test when it comes to collision (they "bounce" from each other) because energy loss from the collision is not part of the model yet.

- Bigworld engine version upgraded to 2.8.1
- French tier 2-5 vehicles added (R35, FCM36, Somua S35, SARL42, Renault G1)
- French tier 9-10 vehicles added (AMX 30 Prototype, AMX 30 B)

- Supertesters recieve following tanks for testing: FV201/A45,  8.8cm Krupp-Steyr Waffentrager, Object 244
- Following tanks were reworked to HD: IS-4, JagdPz E-100, Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. H, ELC AMX, E-100, T26E4 SuperPershing (please note: T26E4 was removed from the patch)

- added new Overlord map
- Live Oaks maps was rebalanced
- effects improved on following maps: Karelia, Westfield, El-Halluf, Airfield

- fixed a significant number of freezes and crashes of the client
- reworked certain effects of shell impacts when hitting ingame objects
- added the option to move people from your contact list in a certain group of contacts around to the recipient group with a single click
- fixed a large number of bugs in the new contact list interface
- fixed descriptions of some individual missions
- fixed some bugs in Stronghold interface
- fixed some small general UI bugs
- fixed the bug where the motion blur displayed incorrectly
- fixed some issues with replay recording
- fixed a calculation error in HE shell spaced armor penetration, when hitting the spaced armor made the client think main armor was penetrated and created an "internal explosion" effect, which could kill all the crewmembers, even though under correct circumstances, only a half od the crew would die from such an explosion

New Feature: Clan Message Boards in the Clan Profile

Important: Clan Message Boards in the Clan Profile are now available
Effective communication is the key for a successful clan. This is why Wargaming wants to help you with you clan’s communication as we improve the clan portal functions. It’s a handy tool to give important information to all your clanmates or call them to action.

A Clan Message Board is an internal communication tool. It means that unauthorized players and players who are not in your clan will not be able to view it.

 

Who can post on the board?
Only those clan members in certain positions can create messages. They are the Combat Officer, Personnel Officer, Executive Officer and Clan Commander. The table below shows, in detail, the different permissions that the roles have.

Browsing Clan Message Boards
When entering the Clan page, the visitors will see a special area which displays the three most recent messages.

If the clan has more than three published messages, the rest may be seen by clicking on the squares (as pictured below). The colour of the square informs the reader whether there are unread messages on the page.

 

All clan members have the opportunity to go to the message board page by clicking on "All messages" and also view feeds available to them by clicking on the messages with the left mouse button. Unread mesages have a golden-brown background and a yellow triangle in the upper left corner. After you open and close a message, its status changes to "Read", and the background colour turns grey.

 

Posting on the boards
To post a new message on the board, click on the yellow plus icon. You can also post a message in the section "Messages" and on the page "All messages".

The "New Message" interface has the following elements:

Text field (the maximum length of a message is 1,000 characters).
Date selection for how long the feed will be displayed. By default, this period is 30 days.
Who the message is available to:
                  All clan members;
                  Only the command structure (Combat Officer, Personnel Officer, Executive Officer and Clan Commander)

When writing your message, using the buttons at the top-right you can format the text to be in bold or italics and you can insert hyperlinks.
The clan cannot have more than 15 active messages displayed at the same time. Messages can be archived by clan members with the appropriate permission (see below).
 

How to edit messages
When you edit messages, it is very similar to posting new messages. An edited message remains in the same place on the list, but it will be "unread".

 

How to delete messages
A clan member with the appropriate permission can permanently delete messages or move them to the archive (see more info below).

 

The list of messages
The Executive Officer and Clan Commander have the opportunity to change the order of messages by dragging and dropping them to create a particular order. This feature can be used to attract the attention of clan members to certain information.

 

Notifications
After posting new messages, the target clan members (all or part of the clan) will receive a special alert. The message will appear in a special interface, which will be implemented on all official websites with Clan Feeds simultaneously. By clicking the link in the alert, the recipient will be able to go directly to the message.

 

The Archive
Those messages which have expired are automatically sent to the archive. Players can always see the date when a particular message will be moved to the archive.

No more than 20 messages can be displayed on one archive page, but the maximum number of pages is unlimited.

If a player has the appropriate permission they can archive any message. Archiving can be useful, for example, if you already have 15 active messages, and you want to add a new one. Additionally, the archive can be used as a repository of message samples which can be restored and reused later.

Archived messages may be deleted permanently by a player with the appropriate permission.

Players who do not have the appropriate permission are unable to view the archive.

FPS increase in 9.7
Earlier, there were concerns about the FPS drop in 9.7 - especially the first test has shown certain drops on some configurations. Famous Russian video maker Jove however returned to the issue in test 3 and made a video on his PC, where he tested both patches on the same replay.

His system is: I7 2600k, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 970 - practically all settings to maximum apart from sniper mode effects and vegetation in sniper mode. The map was quite difficult: Stalingrad.

His results are:

Minimum FPS in 9.6 - 43, in 9.7 - 57
Maximum FPS in 9.6 - 121, in 9.7 - 121
Average FPS in 9.6 - 82, in 9.7 - 89

According to the feedback of the testers, the worse your PC is, the more noticeable the FPS increase is with the owners of very poor PC's noticing a lot better FPS.

Today's micropatch content
Hello warriors,

as it turns out, today's micropatch does not contain only Stronghold fixes (as the patchnotes from RU server declared) but also the elements of the April 1st "fun mode".

This fun mode involves one special consumable, that will unleash under (yet unknown) circumstances some sort of artillery strike. The patch contained:

- new hit sound for this special consumable
- new award (was leaked previously)
- the consumable mechanism itself

The consumable is officially described as "calling a crushing artillery strike to a designated zone, available for tanks from tier 1 to tier 10".

Icon:





Cost: from 50 to 220 gold (depending on tier)
Strike is active for 3 seconds
Loading time is 30 seconds
Blast radius: 10 (meters?)
Number of rounds: 3

Also, there are some firework rounds for artillery, their purpose is not known yet however

In order to accommodate the new vehicles with all their advanced technologies, certain steps will be also taken in order to preserve balance and competitiveness in high-tier battles. The game mechanics will undergo significant changes: the game will start featuring missiles, dynamic protection and advanced systems for target search and lock.

L.E. Umbla zvonul ca dupa ce termina cu astea moderne or sa bage si cateva tancuri cu laser/plasma, tier 12-13.
Iar la stronghold or sa faca si o cladire pentru ICBM-uri, cu activare o data la 24 de ore.
Si se va schimba putin tipul jocului, se va interconecta WOT cu Travian, cei din WOT ii vor apara pe cei din Travian cat timp aia construiesc Minunea.
